8 months on accutane (sotret) - doctor visit

Yesterday I went to see my doctor. As I expected, she lowered my accutane dosage to 10mg per day. Also, she told me that I will finish the treatment before Christmas. I am happy with the results so far. Moreover, I have no new pimples and my lips are way better than before. I don't even use the lipstick anymore.

I will keep updating this sotret blog.

  4. hello
Good to know your treatment is working well.
I have to start a treatment for mild acne problem and my counsulting dermatologist in India has asked me to take Sotret (20 mg/ day) & aldactone + adaferin gel and clindac A gel for application.
Is it alrite if i buy Accutane instead of Sotret and do the acnes reoccer after stopping the treatment of sotret?
Also, does consumption of chocolates aggrevate the acne?

  5. Hey

Roaccutane contains the same active substance as Sotret, so it's basically the same thing. Which means yes, you may start taking accutane. However, no matter what, I advise you to talk to your doctor about it. He will say the same thing, but it is better to be sure.

Sometimes acne comes back after the treatment. Some other times it doesn't. It depends on the amount you take and on your luck, heh. My treatment hasn't finished yet.

And yes, you should try to eat as healthy as possible. Avoid fatty foods, sweets etc. A piece of chocolate from time to time is not that bad, though. :)

    Good luck!
